Administrative Assistant / Accounting Associate

Position Description

The administrative assistant/accounting associate will work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment. The position will consist of a wide array of support functions relevant to a CPA firm including office management tasks and data entry for bookkeeping and tax return projects.


  • High school diploma (or equivalent)

  • Prior experience in similar position

  • Associates degree in accounting is a plus


Desired Skills

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Basic understanding of accounting and tax terminology

  • High-quality attention to detail

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

  • Ability to operate multi-phone line system

  • Dependable transportation for running errands

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Bookkeeping data entry

  • Maintain electronic and paper supporting documents

  • Assistance with tax returns

    • Data entry

    • Copy and Assemble

    • Electronic filing of tax returns

  • Interaction with clientele

    • Maintain office calendar and coordinate conferences and meetings

    • Set up for meetings

    • Receiving payments from clients (in person, electronically and via phone); includes processing credit cards and preparing deposits

  • Errand running for office

  • Light cleaning/maintenance

  • Processing of incoming and outgoing mail

Job Type & Schedule

  • Full-time

  • 8-hour shift

  • Monday – Friday (with extended hours January – April)
